The Bukhryakov’s Research Group (https://myweb.fiu.edu/kbukhrya/) is seeking talented and motivated organic/organometallic chemist to join our group for the Ph.D. program in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Florida International University (FIU), Miami, USA (https://chemistry.fiu.edu).
Education Requirements: Bachelor/Master Degree in chemistry obtained in/before June 2021.
Admission Requirements: TOEFL (or IELTS) and GRE.
Start date: August 2021
Eligible candidates interested in performing research in the area of organometallic chemistry and catalysis should contact Professor Bukhryakov by email (kbukhrya@fiu.edu) to discuss this opportunity. Please be sure to include a brief statement of goals and interests and an updated resumé or CV.
Dr. Konstantin Bukhryakov joined the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at FIU in August 2018 as an Assistant Professor. Before joining FIU, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT, working with Nobel Laureate Professor Richard Schrock, where he pioneered new organometallic molybdenum catalysts for olefin metathesis. Prior to work at MIT, he worked at KAUST in Saudi Arabia developing new catalysts based on amphiphilic macromolecules, including organo- and metal complex catalysts. Dr. Bukhryakov obtained Ph.D. from Lomonosov Moscow State University, working on the synthesis of biologically active compounds for pharmaceutical applications.
